Jimmy Kets lecture

Tuesday evening was – again – lecture evening. This time organised by the fotoklas of UGent.
When I entered the Therminal I was asked whether I was Jimmy Kets. :-p I guess not.
The really poor turnout (I think there were 7 attendants) made the atmosphere quite cosy. His lecture was unfortunately a portfolio presentation more than an introduction to his way of working (which I think would have been much more interesting for a group of amateur photographers). As an introduction to his work his talk did more than OK. He explained how he got into photography, what his background was etc.
I know most of his photos and the story behind it (I tend to read this paper a lot) so no big surprises for me. Maybe some more insight into the way of working as a team of photographers (as we had with the presentation of An Nelissen) would have given it an important surplus value.
Nevertheless I enjoyed his presentation (and ICT clumsiness) a lot. His work is extremely fascinating and inspiring. Make sure you check out the galleries on his website or on his blog.
